Your role
As the
Technology Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of SEC’s technology operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality IT services across all SEC business units. This includes managing operational processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring system performance, and driving continuous improvements to maintain operational excellence. You will play a critical role in aligning technology operations with business needs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security in our IT infrastructure.
This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.
What you will do: Manage SEC IT assets and systems to ensure optimal performance, enforce SOPs, ensure compliance with policies and standards, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Oversee IT incident resolution, acting as the escalation point, ensuring SLA adherence, analyzing root causes, and providing communication to impacted users.
Manage IT vendor relationships, ensuring contractual SLA alignment, identify cost optimization opportunities, and effective coordination for system updates, maintenance, and issue resolution
- ITSM Framework Implementation
Implement and optimize the SEC ITSM framework, promoting best practices and mentoring the team to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Leverage cloud expertise to deliver scalable, secure solutions, drive innovation through emerging technologies, and support business growth and sustainability initiatives.
Who you are: Must Haves Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
- Experienced in leading teams across IT operations, including cloud computing, ITSM frameworks, incident management, and release and deployment processes.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira, with a strong understanding of ITIL and related methodologies.
- Skilled in managing incidents, service requests, and vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with exceptional interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adept at identifying and implementing technology solutions that support business growth, operational excellence, and evolving IT requirements.
Highly Desirable - Proven track record implementing ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) in a medium-sized business.
- Previous experience working within the Energy & Utilities industry
- Working with Power BI dashboards to monitor operational reporting
