As an Employee Relations Specialist, this is an opportunity to step into a role where your ER expertise will have immediate impact. Joining a well-established People & Culture team within a growing financial services environment, you’ll help navigate complex workplace matters while supporting leaders and HR Business Partners to build capability and confidence in managing people issues.
With the organisation having experienced significant workforce growth in recent years, the ER function is managing an increasing volume of workplace matters. This role has been created to strengthen ER capability across the organisation, supporting the Senior ER Specialist and broader HR team with investigations, case management and practical ER guidance. Over time, the role will also evolve to contribute to policy improvements and support broader people initiatives aligned to the organisation’s strategic goals and people plans.
What you’ll do
Manage employee relations matters end-to-end, including investigations, documentation and resolution of workplace issues • Provide practical ER advice to HR Business Partners and leaders, helping guide managers through complex people matters • Ensure ER matters are managed in line with employment legislation, enterprise agreements and organisational policy • Partner with HR to build capability and confidence in managing employee relations issues • Maintain accurate documentation and case records while managing multiple matters simultaneously • Contribute to the review and improvement of ER policies, processes and guidelines • Identify trends across ER matters and help inform people plans and broader HR initiatives aligned to organisational priorities
Who you are
An experienced Employee Relations Specialist or HR practitioner with strong investigations and case management capability • Proven experience managing employee and industrial relations matters, including coaching, counselling, negotiation and end-to-end case management • Experience working with unionised environments or engaging with unions on workplace matters • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations frameworks • Experience operating in regulated or structured environments, such as financial services, professional services or similar corporate settings • Ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders, partnering effectively with leaders and HR colleagues • Calm, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the ability to navigate sensitive workplace matters with sound judgement • Highly organised, able to manage multiple cases while maintaining strong documentation and process discipline
