What’s the Brief? We’re partnering with a well-established, privately owned agribusiness operating across South Australia and Victoria to appoint a P&C Business Partner to support one of its regional farming divisions.
This position has been created to provide dedicated Business Partner support to a workforce of approximately 100 employees across multiple regional sites. With peak operational periods and ongoing workforce demands, the business requires an experienced HR professional who can deliver hands-on advisory support, manage recruitment and contracts, and ensure people processes are executed consistently and effectively.
This is a true generalist HRBP role embedded within a blue-collar, regional environment.
Is This Your Perfect Match? Reporting directly to the General Manager of the division, you will operate as the primary HR contact for the business unit. You’ll partner closely with an operationally strong GM, providing guidance across employee relations, workforce planning and recruitment, while executing broader HR strategy at a local level.
The role carries autonomy across advisory matters and recruitment, with terminations requiring final sign-off from the broader HR function.
Regular travel to Mildura is required (approximately 4 days per month on site). Travel is fully covered and forms an essential component of the role.
Where You'll Make an Impact
HR Advisory & Employee Relations: Provide practical, legislation-based advice across ER matters, awards and compliance.
Operational Recruitment & Workforce Support: Manage recruitment within budget, oversee employment contracts and support leaders with day-to-day people matters.
Strategy Execution: Implement group HR initiatives locally, with involvement in programs such as apprenticeships, talent development and succession planning.
Payroll Processing: Support a small fortnightly payroll processing run for the division (processing only; financial reconciliations handled elsewhere).
Stakeholder Partnership: Build strong working relationships across regional sites and support leaders in achieving business outcomes through effective people management.
What You Bring to the Table You are a grounded and practical HR professional who is comfortable working in regional, operational environments.
You bring:
- Demonstrated generalist HR Business Partner experience
- Strong technical knowledge of awards and employment legislation
- Confidence supporting blue-collar or operational workforces
- Ability to work autonomously while partnering closely with leaders
- Resilience and professionalism when managing robust stakeholders
- Willingness to travel regularly to regional sites
- Payroll exposure preferred, though not essential
