This newly created role sits at the centre of people cost, remuneration, and workforce planning for a fast-growing retail group expanding across Australia and now entering New Zealand. With new stores opening regularly and headcount steadily climbing, the business is investing in a dedicated specialist to bring structure, accuracy, and commercial insight to all things Compensation & Benefits and Workforce Planning.
If you’re a numbers-driven HR professional who loves modelling, data, and building clean frameworks from the ground up, this is the role where your detail orientation actually moves the dial.
Is This Your Perfect Match? You’ll operate at the intersection of Finance, HRBPs, Payroll, and APAC, becoming the go-to person for people cost analysis, forecasting and remuneration governance. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll play an active part in shaping how the business manages fast-paced growth
Your Role in Action - Own three annual people cost forecasting cycles
- Manage headcount and people cost modelling across Australia and NZ
- Rebuild and refine APAC-provided templates to incorporate local AU/NZ cost elements (super, payroll tax, workcover, etc.)
- Support job grading, bonus structures, salary benchmarking (Mercer), and merit cycle preparation
- Lead and support payroll cost projects, including assessing payroll provider performance
- Translate complexity into simple, accurate insights leaders can understand and action
- Advise stakeholders who often take a regional view and need support navigating local requirements
Your Tools for Success - Strong foundations in Comp & Ben – job grading, benchmarking, bonus design, and local remuneration frameworks
- High proficiency in Excel – complex modelling, cost allocation, scenario analysis
- Experience with workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and data integrity
- Ability to work effectively with APAC stakeholders, Finance, HRBPs and Payroll
- Familiarity with Workday (or ability to learn quickly)
- 2–3 years’ experience in Comp & Ben / remuneration analytics / WFP or similar
