What’s the Brief? Join one of Australasia’s largest private education groups - a powerhouse of vocational, higher-education and university pathway providers that’s reshaping the learning landscape. Their Australian portfolio brings together a collection of ambitious, values-driven institutions, each with its own rhythm and story, united by one purpose: helping people reach their full potential through education.
With ongoing change, growth and acquisitions, this newly created 12-month contract role offers the chance to strengthen and stabilise the ER function across multiple entities - bringing structure where there’s complexity, and confidence where there’s change.
Is This Your Perfect Match? You’re an experienced ER professional who thrives in dynamic, high-stakes environments where no two cases are the same. Calm under pressure, pragmatic in your approach and commercially minded in your advice, you’re the person leaders turn to for clarity and confidence.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and people-focused culture that values curiosity, improvement and integrity. The team blends autonomy with support - trusting you to manage your caseload while working closely with peers across Melbourne, Perth and Auckland. It’s the ideal environment for someone who enjoys variety, complexity and the satisfaction of helping leaders do the right thing - the right way.
Your Impact - Manage end-to-end workplace investigations into conduct, bullying, performance and other ER matters.
- Provide timely, pragmatic advice to managers and leaders on a broad range of employee and workplace relations issues.
- Coach and support leaders to build their confidence in managing performance, behaviour and conflict early and effectively.
- Guide redundancy, redeployment and change processes, ensuring consistency and fairness across multiple entities.
- Review and refine ER policies, frameworks and templates to strengthen alignment and compliance across the group.
- Prepare clear, well-structured documentation, including investigation reports, outcome letters, deeds of release and case summaries.
- Partner closely with the ER Manager, Senior HRBPs, and H&S/RTW teams to ensure best-practice outcomes.
- Ensure all ER activity aligns with the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and internal governance standards.
- Analyse ER data and trends to inform broader culture and engagement initiatives.
Your Tools for Success
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-volume ER cases from end to end.
- Deep understanding of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and employment legislation.
- Confidence navigating the full ER spectrum - from investigations, PIPs and terminations to restructures and conciliation.
- A natural coaching style that builds capability in leaders and promotes early intervention.
- Excellent communication skills - articulate, composed and influential across all levels.
- Sound judgment, discretion and integrity when handling sensitive and high-risk matters.
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset - always looking for ways to strengthen frameworks and consistency.
