We’re looking for an HR Manager or experienced Senior HR Business Partner to step into a 14-month fixed-term role, covering a parental leave absence at a well-known Australian retailer. Leading a team of HR Business Partners and an HR Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining continuity and driving best-practice HR with a strong emphasis on employee relations and compliance. With a handover period built in on either side, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced retail environment.

What you'll be doing
Lead and coach a team of HR Business Partners and an HR Advisor
Oversee and advise on complex ER matters including terminations, bullying, harassment, and discrimination cases
Provide guidance on legal claims and Fair Work Commission processes
Deliver capability training for managers
Ensure award compliance through regular audits and reporting
Partner with leaders to drive alignment between people and business goals
Communicate people processes and outcomes clearly and effectively to all stakeholders
Work closely with the HR Operations team to ensure smooth delivery of people initiatives in the business
Contribute to ongoing process and compliance improvements across the HR function
Your toolkit
Proven HR leadership experience, ideally within retail or hospitality and knowledge if relevant awards
Strong employee relations expertise, including serious and sensitive cases
Hands-on experience with Fair Work legislation and Commission processes
Confidence managing legal claims and advising on strategy
Skilled at delivering capability training and practical ER workshops
Track record of building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
Ability to coach and mentor HR team members to build confidence and capability
Strong business partnering approach with commercial acumen
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues
Comfortable working at pace, balancing strategy with day-to-day delivery
