What's the brief? We are partnering with an organisation within the community services industry to find them their new Senior Manager of P&C, leading a team of 5 direct reports. This is a newly created position, reporting into the GM of Shared Services where you’ll be the trusted leader of the P&C function on all things people - from workforce planning to WHS, policy and process.
Is This Your Perfect Match? The P&C function has undergone a lot of change and transformation over the last 12 months, and as such, the offering from the function across the business will change too. P&C are looking for a leader that steadies a function, mentors a team, and holds the line when things get noisy. A new leadership team has been appointed, as well as a fairly new P&C team which will report into you. The team is energised, capable, and ready to be led. The foundation is set, and now they need a steady hand to bring consistency, rigour, and real capability-building both within the function and across people leaders within the wider business. Where You’ll Make an Impact
Coaching and developing a newly rebuilt team with strong intent and emerging capability
Leading the organisation’s reporting and lifting the function
Overseeing a complex OH&S environment, with support from a Lead Specialist in this area
Navigating industrial relations and award interpretation across the workforce
Maintaining strong relationships across diverse stakeholders
Building leadership capability across the organisation, particularly at middle management level
Managing the budget for the P&C function
What Sets You Apart
You know what good looks like in a people function, and you’re confident implementing it in a way that fits the scale and resourcing of a mid-sized organisation
You bring clear thinking, smart process, and calm decision-making, especially in high-volume, compliance-heavy environments
You have solid experience in community services, events, local government, or organisations with child safety and/or volunteer requirements
You can collaborate with finance to cost roles, model workforce shifts, and ensure alignment between people planning and business planning
You aren’t afraid to push back, test ideas, and put forward practical solutions that serve the bigger picture
