An exciting opportunity exists for a Permanent Full-Time Management Accountant to join our Corporate Services Directorate, based in the beautiful Isaac Region.
Reporting to the Manager Accounting Services, the Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting Council's financial operations through the delivery of accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance activities and management accounting services. Working as part of a collaborative and high performing Financial Services team, you will contribute to sound financial decision-making while providing support across a range of accounting functions, including payroll and asset accounting as required.

To be successful in this position, you will:
- Demonstrate experience in management accounting, financial administration and reconciliations, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Possess sound analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to exercise initiative and apply sound judgement in a complex environment.
- Have experience preparing and reviewing journals, account reconciliations and financial data to support accurate reporting and compliance outcomes.
- Contribute to statutory reporting, audit requirements, month end and year end processes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, delivering a high standard of customer service.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and have experience using corporate financial management systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while supporting broader Financial Services functions including payroll and asset accounting when required.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or a related discipline, a current C Class Open Queensland Driver Licence, and a minimum of two years' experience in a similar accounting role. Local Government and TechnologyOne experience will be highly regarded.
If you are successful in this position, you will receive: - Salary $101,951.00 - $118,512.00 (Level 5 - 7, Stream A)
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
- RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- 15 days personal leave per annum
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy
