Isaac Regional Council is looking for a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Fitter to join our Infrastructure Services Directorate.
Whether you’re a school leaver, looking to kick-start a trade career, or wanting a change in direction, this apprenticeship allows you to earn while you learn alongside experienced tradespeople who will support and mentor you every step of the way.
About the role
As an Apprentice Fitter, you’ll:
• Assist with the maintenance, repair and overhaul of plant, machinery and equipment.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs safely and effectively.
• Work alongside qualified tradespeople on a variety of mechanical tasks.
• Develop skills in using hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment.
The role at a glance
Type: Fixed Term – 4 years (Apprenticeship)
Hours: Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Roster: Monday to Friday, 9-day fortnight (hello long weekends!)
Who we’re looking for:
No prior trade experience is required – just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
• Have an interest in mechanical work and hands-on tasks.
• Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn new skills.
• Can work well in a team and follow instructions.
• Have completed Year 10 or higher.
• Hold (or are willing to obtain) a current driver’s licence.
