Industry and Investment Advisor – Isaac Region
An exciting opportunity exists for a Permanent Full Time Industry and Investment Advisor in our Community Services Directorate based in the Isaac Region. Reporting to the Manager Economic Development, the Industry and Investment Advisor will provide strategic leadership in building partnerships, driving investment attraction, and supporting industry diversification across the Isaac region.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can cultivate strong relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders, deliver high‑impact strategic projects and champion the Isaac region as a prime location for business and industry growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional collaboration and problem-solving skills, a commitment to high quality customer service, and a sound understanding of legislative requirements relevant to Local Government, including land and property dealings.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of economic development principles, regional industry dynamics, and local government legislative requirements, particularly regarding land and property dealings.
- Build effective partnerships with government, industry, business, and community stakeholders to drive investment, industry growth, and economic diversification.
- Lead and deliver complex strategic and operational projects that support regional development, business sustainability, and Council priorities.
- Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based advice on economic trends, investment opportunities, and emerging industry sectors.
- Communicate with exceptional written, verbal, negotiation, and engagement skills to influence outcomes and collaborate across diverse sectors.
- Identify, attract, and support new and existing investors, including preparing business cases, prospectuses, and tailored guidance.
- Manage consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve effective project outcomes within budget, time, and quality expectations.
- Demonstrate strong digital capability, including the use of Microsoft 365, records management systems, GIS technologies, and other relevant software.
- Bring experience in delivering economic development strategies, investment attraction initiatives, and land and property‑related projects.
- Hold relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications (e.g. business, marketing, economic development, regional planning, property development/law) and possess a current C Class Open Qld Driver’s Licence.
If you are successful in this position, you will receive: - Salary $113,191.75 - $123,078.59 per annum
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
- RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- 15 days personal leave per annum
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy
