Program Leader Civic Venues - Moranbah
An exciting opportunity exists for a Program Leader Civic Venues to lead the strategic and day to day operations of the newly refurbished Isaac Events Centre in Moranbah, along with 12 community halls/centres and a diverse civic venues portfolio. In this senior role, you will guide a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality hospitality, events, and community services, while driving business development aligned with the Events Centre Business Plan.
With a focus on exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, and community value, you will lead initiatives to grow corporate, community, and new event offerings, ranging from live performances to conferences and trade shows. A collaborative and accountable leadership style is essential, ensuring transparency, integrity, and alignment with Community Services’ values and vision.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Provide strong, engaged leadership to a diverse team, driving a culture of accountability, high performance and customer focus.
- Oversee strategic and day to day operations of the Isaac Events Centre and Civic Venues, ensuring alignment with Council’s goals and service standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality outcomes, effectively managing feedback, complaints and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and deliver a wide range of events including planning, logistics, vendor management and technical support to a professional standard.
- Manage venue budgets, financial reporting and forecasting, ensuring responsible and sustainable use of resources.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, industry partners, promoters and government bodies to attract new business and events.
- Provide informed asset, performance and sustainability advice to support strategic planning and decision making.
- Prepare and deliver business plans, projects and strategic documents in line with corporate expectations.
- Collaborate transparently across teams, departments and the broader Directorate to achieve integrated, community focused outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work confidently across community, corporate and government sectors.
If you are successful in this position, you will receive: - Salary $113,191.75 – $123,078.59 per annum
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight – exact days/ times to be discussed in the next stages
- Subsidised council housing at $80 per week
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy
