Painter/ Decorator - Moranbah
  
A great opportunity is available to join our Corporate Properties team as a full-time Painter/Decorator. This hands‑on role helps keep Council buildings and facilities in top shape, with work that’s varied, practical, and makes a real difference across the Isaac region.
  
What you’ll be doing:

• Using your trade skills to carry out painting and general building maintenance.
• Talking with staff and community members and providing friendly, clear customer service.
• Measuring jobs and working out materials and costs before starting work.
• Applying different finishes—paint, stain, varnish, enamel—using the right tools and techniques.
• Setting up ladders and scaffolding safely and working at heights in line with WHS rules.
• Helping assess building conditions and reporting issues so assets stay compliant and well‑maintained.
• Supporting maintenance programs by quoting, scheduling, ordering materials, and completing building works.
• Mentoring apprentices and passing on practical skills and safe work habits.
• Keeping worksites clean and safe with a strong focus on WHS.

What you’ll need

• Trade qualifications and hands‑on experience in painting and building maintenance (Local Government experience is a bonus).
• C Class Open Manual Driver’s Licence
• White Card/Construction Card
• Ability to pass pre‑employment assessments

If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

• Attractive salary package inclusive of over award payment plus allowances, including:-

• Nominally 76 hours per fortnight/ Nominally 38 hours per week
• RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
• 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
• 15 days personal leave per annum
