Maintenance Fitter – Pumps - Moranbah
Isaac Regional Council is seeking a full time, permanent, skilled and safety focused Maintenance Fitter – Pumps to join our team supporting water and wastewater operations across the region. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, pump system experience, and a commitment to maintaining essential infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities - Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment, with a focus on pump systems.
- Repair, replace, and maintain pipework and flow infrastructure.
- Assist with equipment installations, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and support asset identification and control.
- Provide technical advice to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct field servicing and remote site repairs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform unscheduled maintenance.
- Identify spare parts needs and liaise with the Maintenance Planner.
- Support improvement projects and corrective action programs.
- Participate in the on-call roster and travel across the Isaac Region as required.
Knowledge & Skills – Essential - Mechanical Fitter or relevant trade qualification.
- Demonstrated experience with pump systems (centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, positive displacement).
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Understanding (or ability to obtain) of regulatory obligations related to water and wastewater utilities.
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
Experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical fitting repairs, installation, and servicing.
- Experience in field diagnostics and repair.
Qualifications - Relevant trade qualifications.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment.
- Construction Blue/White Card.
- Current C Class Open Australian Driver’s Licence.

- $18,000.00 per annum Market Loading allowance
