Would you like to play a key role in shaping fairness, safety, and trust across sport and recreation in Aotearoa? The Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui is looking for an experienced Resolution Manager to lead its small and dedicated Resolution Team.
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where you will guide how complaints and disputes across the sport and recreation sector are resolved. You will combine people leadership with operational oversight and real influence over systems and processes, to ensure fair, timely, and culturally appropriate outcomes.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role
The Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui leads and promotes integrity across the sport and recreation sector, working with participants and organisations to prevent harm and resolve issues constructively.
As Resolution Manager you will report to the Director – Operations and lead the Commission’s Resolution Team, overseeing the triage and resolution of complaints stemming from all levels of sport and recreation. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading and supporting a team of Resolution Practitioners to deliver high-quality, fair and timely outcomes
- Overseeing complaint triage, case allocation, and resolution pathways, including referral to investigation (and other agencies) where appropriate
- Supporting early facilitation, mediation and restorative approaches to resolve disputes constructively
- Driving process improvement, innovation, and efficiency within resolution systems and case management practices
- Ensuring culturally responsive practice, including the application of tikanga-based approaches and strong child inclusion practices
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the sector and providing clear reporting on trends, outcomes, and service performance to senior leadership
- Ensuring compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and relevant legislative frameworks
Ko koe tēnei | About you You will be an experienced people leader with a strong background in complaint resolution, mediation, and early facilitation, ideally from within a government or regulatory environment, with an aptitude for managing and developing high-performing teams. Alternatively, you could be a senior resolution practitioner with the breadth of experience and judgement to step into management. Either way, you will bring:
- Strong expertise in mediation, facilitation, and restorative approaches to dispute resolution
- The ability to step back from casework and lead through others, providing coaching, guidance and oversight on complex matters
- Strong critical thinking and the ability to improve systems, processes, and service delivery outcomes
- A collaborative, people-focused approach and the ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
- Cultural awareness and a commitment to working in a way that is responsive to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supports diverse communities
- A sound understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks
Relevant qualifications in law, mediation, dispute resolution, or a related field are expected, along with practical experience applying these skills in a professional setting. Experience in a government or regulatory environment will be considered advantageous.
