Intermediate Accountant | Business Services
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 + superannuation
Location: Parkville, Melbourne
Work style: Permanent full-time | Hybrid with one day WFH per week

The Role
Work alongside senior accountants and Managers to deliver business services, taxation and compliance work.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, companies and trusts
• Preparing BAS and assisting with payroll tax and land tax obligations where required
• Completing reconciliations and detailed supporting workpapers
• Preparing client work through to review stage and responding to feedback
• Researching tax issues and assisting with draft advice for Managers and Partners
• Liaising with the ATO, state revenue authorities, clients and other professionals
• Managing allocated tasks, deadlines and progress updates
• Building technical knowledge across complex client groups and entity structures

What You’ll Bring

• At least one year of experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
• An accounting degree from an Australian institution
• CA or CPA completed or underway
• Sound foundations in Australian accounting and taxation
• Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and workpapers
• Working knowledge of Xero and Excel
• Clear communication skills and a professional approach to clients
• Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to deadlines
• Willingness to ask questions, apply feedback and keep developing
