Senior Accountant | Business Services & Advisory
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 + superannuation + quarterly performance bonus and incentives

This Senior Accountant position combines hands-on technical delivery with regular client contact, workflow responsibility and mentoring. Alongside preparing accounts and tax returns, you will help clients understand their position, identify opportunities and make informed decisions.

The Role
Manage accounting and taxation work for a portfolio of SME and individual clients, maintaining strong relationships and consistent delivery standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns
• Completing BAS, FBT and payroll tax obligations
• Managing client work from information gathering through to completion
• Conducting tax planning and advising on business structures
• Responding to client queries and identifying opportunities to add value
• Monitoring workflow, identifying delivery gaps and managing work in progress
• Working towards personal and team performance targets
• Mentoring junior accountants and supporting their technical development
• Maintaining current knowledge of taxation matters, including Division 7A, FBT and GST
• Using Xero, Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs across client work and workflow

The practice has served businesses and individuals for more than two decades and has expanded through acquisition. Its multidisciplinary offering spans accounting, taxation, business advisory, wealth management, IT and support services.

The wider firm advises across budgeting, cash flow forecasting, business valuations, succession and virtual CFO services, providing a broader commercial context for accountants developing beyond compliance.

What You’ll Bring

• At least four years’ Australian public practice accounting experience
• Completed CA or CPA qualification
• Strong technical knowledge across business services accounting and taxation
• Confidence managing client relationships and taking ownership of work
• Ability to identify tax planning and business structuring opportunities
• Clear communication and sound professional judgement
• Strong organisation and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero
• Willingness to mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
• A proactive, collaborative approach to client service
