Director | Business Services & Advisory
Salary: $180,000–$220,000 + superannuation + performance-based incentives
Location: Brisbane or Canberra
Work style: Permanent full-time | Hybrid: three days in the office and two days WFH per week

The Role
Lead client service, people and practice operations while building sustainable growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving commercial expansion through new client relationships, referrals, networking and business development
- Growing the portfolio by identifying additional advisory needs and expanding services across existing relationships
- Managing operational delivery, including resourcing, workflow, capacity and service standards
- Monitoring engagement budgets, commercial performance and opportunities to improve efficiency
- Managing key client relationships and acting as a senior adviser to business owners and private clients
- Leading advice on business structuring, tax planning and complex compliance matters
- Overseeing advisory engagements covering forecasting, cash flow management and growth strategies
- Reviewing complex financial statements, tax returns and technical advice
- Maintaining technical standards and managing significant engagement risks
- Leading and developing accountants through mentoring, feedback and clear performance expectations
- Working with Partners on growth plans, strategic priorities and operational decisions
- Evaluating technology, automation and process improvements that strengthen client service and practice performance

What You’ll Bring - Completed CA or CPA qualification
- Extensive Australian public practice experience across business services, taxation and advisory
- Demonstrated capability at Director or experienced Senior Manager level
- Deep knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
- A strong record of managing complex engagements and trusted client relationships
- Proven business development capability and experience growing a client portfolio
- Experience managing practice operations, resources and commercial performance
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop accountants
- Confidence delivering clear, commercially relevant advice to business owners
- Sound judgement across technical issues, engagement risks and competing priorities
- Experience improving workflows, systems and service delivery
- Clear communication and a collaborative leadership style
