The Role
Lead client relationships and engagement delivery while helping accountants produce accurate, timely and commercially useful work.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a client portfolio and acting as the primary contact for tax and business advisory matters
• Advising on business structuring, tax planning and compliance
• Leading advisory engagements covering forecasting, cash flow management and business growth strategies
• Reviewing financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships, superannuation funds and high-net-worth individuals
• Researching complex tax issues and communicating practical recommendations
• Managing workflow, deadlines and technical quality across engagements
• Coaching accountants through constructive feedback, technical guidance and clear expectations
• Maintaining effective communication and collaboration across a dispersed team
• Working with Partners on strategic priorities and practice growth
• Developing client relationships, identifying additional service needs and contributing to referrals and networking
• Improving processes and evaluating technology and automation opportunities

Our client is an established accounting and business advisory firm with offices in Brisbane and Canberra.

The practice brings together accounting, tax, bookkeeping and business advisory services, supporting clients through business establishment, acquisition, growth and succession. Its broader offering includes SMSFs, asset protection, management reporting and outsourced CFO services.

A collaborative culture encourages continuous learning, feedback and practical improvements. Close relationships with senior leaders support technical development, while clear advice and consistent service underpin long-term client relationships.

What You’ll Bring

• Completed CA or CPA qualification
• At least five years’ experience in a senior accounting or advisory role
• Strong Australian public practice experience across business services and tax
• Deep knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and complex engagements
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing accountants
• Confidence translating technical issues into clear, commercially relevant advice
• Strong workflow management, communication and professional judgement
• Business development capability and an ability to identify advisory opportunities
• Confidence using accounting software and modern collaboration tools
• Ability to lead people and maintain client relationships effectively in a remote environment

Experience advising SMEs and high-net-worth individuals, preparing technical advice and improving engagement processes will be highly regarded.
