Senior Accountant | Corporate Tax
Salary: $85,000–$105,000 + superannuation
Location: Brisbane CBD
Work style: Permanent full-time | Hybrid with two WFH days per week

Develop specialist tax capability in a team that welcomes both accountants with tax experience and Business Services accountants ready to specialise.
Working closely with experienced tax leaders and a specialist Partner, you’ll combine compliance work with technical research and advisory support.
Exposure spans tax planning, FBT, tax effect accounting, restructures, consolidations and international tax considerations.
A documented career framework sets out expectations at each level, with regular development conversations and coaching to help plan your next step.
Experienced Intermediate Accountants ready to build towards Senior level will also be considered.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing income tax returns and reviewing work where appropriate to your experience
- Preparing BAS, IAS and related compliance work
- Supporting FBT and tax effect accounting matters
- Researching tax legislation and drafting clear advice for review
- Assisting with tax planning, restructures, consolidations and succession planning
- Supporting matters involving international tax considerations
- Identifying tax risks and assessing the implications of legislative changes
- Liaising with clients and the ATO to resolve queries and gather information
- Supporting junior colleagues with technical questions where appropriate
- Managing assigned work, deadlines and job budgets
About Our Client Our client is a large Queensland accounting and advisory firm with 14 Partners and almost 200 staff across three offices.
The broader practice provides business advisory, taxation, audit, international advisory, insolvency, SMSF, technology, finance, lending and wealth management services. The specialist Corporate Tax team sits within this wider professional services environment.
Brisbane staff work from a modern Eagle Street office with end-of-trip facilities. Systems include Xero, Business Fitness and APS, with a transition to KloudConnect underway.
What You’ll Bring - Australian public practice experience at Intermediate or Senior Accountant level
- Experience in Business Services, tax or Corporate Tax
- A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline
- CA or CPA completed, underway or intended
- Sound knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance fundamentals
- Interest in technical research and developing specialist tax expertise
- Clear communication, analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems
- The ability to manage deadlines, seek guidance and keep colleagues informed
Previous Corporate Tax experience is welcome but is not essential for a capable Business Services accountant making the transition.
