Intermediate Accountant | Business Services
Salary: $80,000–$95,000 + superannuation | Bonus potential
Location: Earlwood, Sydney
Work style: Permanent full-time | Three office days and two WFH days after onboarding

The Role
Across a varied business services portfolio, responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS
- Preparing workpapers, reconciliations and journals
- Working across individuals, companies, trusts and business clients
- Communicating with clients to gather information and address queries
- Assisting Seniors and Managers with tax planning and advisory work
- Maintaining accurate files and clear supporting documentation
- Contributing ideas to improve systems, processes and workflow
About Our ClientOur client is an established accounting and advisory practice with longstanding, often multi-generational client relationships.
The team of 24 supports small and medium businesses across a broad range of industries, with the largest clients turning over approximately $20 million. This provides exposure to businesses at different stages of ownership, growth and succession.
Many members have been with the practice for more than 10 years. Several colleagues joined as undergraduates and progressed internally, providing practical examples of career development within the firm.
Timesheets help the practice understand job profitability but are not heavily policed day-to-day. Performance centres on quality, client service and delivery, with most clients engaged on upfront agreed fees.
What You’ll Bring - Two to five years of Australian public practice experience in business services
- A degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
- CA or CPA studies underway
- Sound technical foundations across financial statements, tax returns, BAS and workpapers
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
- Confidence using cloud-based systems and an interest in technology, automation and AI
- Permanent working rights in Australia
