SMSF Senior Accountant
Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 + superannuation

The Role
As SMSF Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the firm's SMSF leaders to deliver accurate, timely and high-quality SMSF work for a varied client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
- Managing SMSF compliance obligations across your portfolio
- Reviewing work prepared by offshore accountants based in the Philippines
- Mentoring and supporting offshore team members with technical questions, workflow and quality standards
- Liaising with auditors and responding to audit queries
- Working directly with clients and internal stakeholders
- Acting as a key conduit between the offshore SMSF team and senior internal stakeholders
- Attending to BAS, tax returns and related SMSF compliance matters
- Supporting superannuation tax planning and compliance-related advice
- Helping ensure client work is delivered accurately, confidently and on time
- Contributing to continuous improvement across SMSF systems, processes and workflows
- Participating in training and, where appropriate, presenting training to team members
- Supporting a collaborative team environment focused on quality, responsiveness and care
This role is not just production-focused. You will have meaningful review responsibility, regular communication with stakeholders and scope to help improve how the SMSF team operates.
What You'll Bring - At least 4 years of Australian SMSF accounting experience
- Current SMSF Senior Accountant level experience
- BGL 360 experience is essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or similar
- Experience reviewing SMSF financial statements and tax returns
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
- Confidence managing SMSF compliance obligations
- Strong understanding of SMSF tax and compliance requirements
- Ability to liaise with auditors, clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, steady and accountable working style
