You will manage client work with increasing independence, prepare and review high-quality accounting and tax compliance matters, and support a team environment where people are trusted to deliver.
You will work with privately owned businesses, individuals, family groups and broader client structures, while still having access to experienced Managers, senior staff and Partners.

The Role
As Senior Accountant in the Business Services team, you will take ownership of client accounting and tax compliance work while supporting junior team members and contributing to client relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and superannuation funds
- Completing BAS, IAS and other quarterly and annual compliance matters
- Conducting tax planning activities under guidance, including interim work and assessment notices
- Reconciling accounting files across platforms such as Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
- Liaising with the ATO regarding client matters and compliance issues
- Working directly with clients to clarify queries and gather required information
- Drafting correspondence and assisting with client updates
- Attending client meetings where required to support relationship management
- Providing informal guidance and support to junior accountants
- Answering technical queries and assisting junior staff with task prioritisation
- Managing your own workflow, deadlines and productivity expectations
- Assisting with fee preparation for client work where required
- Contributing to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical enhancements

What You'll Bring - Australian public practice experience in business services
- Current Senior Accountant level experience, or strong Intermediate experience with readiness to step up
- CA or CPA completed, underway or intended
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or similar
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
- Solid knowledge of Australian tax legislation
- Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
- Experience with BAS, IAS and ATO compliance matters
- Confidence working across entities such as individuals, companies, trusts and superannuation funds
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workflow, deadlines and competing priorities
- Collaborative, client-focused and dependable working style
- Willingness to support junior team members and contribute to team development
