Senior Accountant | Corporate Tax
Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 + superannuation
Location: Brisbane CBD

This is an opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join a specialist Corporate Tax team within a large Queensland advisory and accounting firm.
The role will suit someone who enjoys technical tax work and wants to build deeper capability beyond standard compliance. You may already have corporate tax experience, or you may be a strong Business Services accountant looking to move into a more specialised tax pathway.
You will work closely with experienced tax leaders, support a broad range of client matters, and gain exposure to tax planning, FBT, tax effect accounting, restructures, consolidations, international tax considerations, and succession planning.

The Role
As Senior Accountant in the Corporate Tax team, you will work across tax compliance, technical research and advisory support for a diverse client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing income tax returns
- Preparing and reviewing BAS, IAS and other compliance matters
- Supporting FBT and tax effect accounting work
- Assisting with tax planning and advisory projects
- Working on restructures, consolidations and succession planning matters
- Supporting work involving international tax considerations
- Researching tax legislation and preparing clear advice
- Providing guidance around tax risk, compliance and legislative change
- Liaising with the ATO on client matters and compliance issues
- Supporting junior accountants with questions, workflow and technical development
- Managing your own workflow, deadlines and quality standards
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment where work is delivered accurately and on time
This role gives you the opportunity to strengthen both your technical tax skills and your confidence in managing client relationships, while still having experienced support around you.
What You'll Bring - Australian public practice experience in business services, tax or corporate tax
- Current Intermediate or Senior Accountant level experience
- CA or CPA completed, underway or intended
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or similar
- Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation
- Experience preparing income tax returns, BAS, IAS and compliance work
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Interest in corporate tax, technical research and advisory work
- Confidence using systems such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar
- Strong Excel capability
