22nd June, 2026
Senior Accountant
Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 + superannuation
Location: Fully remote within Australia
Work style: Full-time | Fully remote role for an Australia-based accountant
Why This Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing boutique accounting and advisory firm operating on a fully remote basis.
The role will suit someone who is technically strong, proactive, and confident in managing work without close supervision. You will be trusted to take ownership, communicate clearly and deliver high-quality work across tax, compliance and business services matters.
This is not a traditional suburban accounting role where the Partner reviews every detail before anything moves forward. The firm is looking for someone who can operate with care, judgement and accountability, while still having access to support when needed.
The role offers strong flexibility, broader client exposure and the opportunity to work in a firm that values responsiveness, commercial thinking and practical advice.
About Our Client
Our client is a boutique accounting and advisory firm supporting business owners, medical professionals, property investors and private clients.
The firm provides tax compliance, business advisory, structuring, cash flow support, SMSF and property-related advice.
The leadership team brings experience across Big 4 tax, international tax, mergers and acquisitions, strategy consulting and private client advisory. That background flows through to the firm's approach, which is focused on high-quality advice, responsiveness and helping clients make better commercial decisions.
The firm operates fully remotely, with regular team communication, daily check-ins, shared workflow lists, and modern systems that support collaboration across the team.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will work across tax, accounting and business services matters for a diverse client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts and SMSFs
- Preparing financial statements and detailed working papers
- Preparing BAS and state tax returns, including payroll tax and land tax where required
- Preparing work through to review stage
- Researching tax issues and assisting with advice for senior team members and clients
- Liaising with the ATO, clients and other professionals
- Supporting tax planning and broader advisory work where appropriate
- Working with business owners, medical professionals, property investors and private clients
- Using Xero, Excel and other accounting systems to deliver accurate, timely work
- Contributing to process improvement as the firm continues to grow
This role is best suited to someone who wants to be hands-on, trusted and accountable, rather than someone who needs close supervision or prefers a heavily managed environment.
