Supervisor - Business Services
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 + superannuation & bonuses
Location: Brisbane City fringe

Why This Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant or existing Supervisor to step into a broader leadership role within a growing Brisbane City-fringe firm.
 
You will work across tax, business services, SMSF and advisory-related matters while supporting the development of accountants within the team. The role offers close access to the Director, strong systems, and a clear progression structure through quarterly informal and annual formal reviews.
 
This will suit someone who enjoys client contact, technical review, mentoring and being part of a professional but collaborative firm environment.
 
About Our Client
Our client is an independent accounting and advisory firm based in Red Hill, on Brisbane's city fringe.
 
The practice is led by 2 Directors and supported by a team of 18. The firm provides accounting, tax compliance, business services, SMSF, bookkeeping, QBCC reporting, business advisory and related professional services.
 
The firm is fully cloud-based, operates as a Xero Platinum Partner and uses systems including Xero, XPM, FYI Docs and related cloud platforms.
 
This is a strong environment for someone who wants a visible role in a growing firm without losing the team connection of a smaller practice.
 
The Role
As Supervisor, you will work across a diverse client portfolio while supporting quality, workflow and team development.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships and SMSFs
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, BAS, IAS and PAYG obligations
• Building and managing client relationships
• Researching and resolving general taxation issues
• Supporting business advisory projects with Managers and Directors
• Assisting with workflow, deadlines and job quality
• Supporting and mentoring intermediate and junior accountants
• Using Xero, XPM and FYI to manage client work and team workflow

What You'll Bring

• Accounting degree
• Strong Australian public practice experience
• CA or CPA completed, or close to completion
• Strong tax compliance and business services capability
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior accountants
• Confidence-building relationships with clients
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgement
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment
• Proactive and hard-working approach

Experience with Xero, XPM, MYOB, FYI Docs and BGL Simple Fund will be highly regarded.
