Intermediate Accountant
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 + superannuation & bonuses
Location: Red Hill, QLD

Why This Role
This is an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join a growing tax and business services firm on the Brisbane City fringe.
 
The role will suit someone with Australian public practice experience who wants to continue building technical confidence, gain exposure to a diverse client base, and work in a supportive team with strong training and progression opportunities.
 
You will work closely with senior accountants, supervisors, managers and Directors across compliance and business advisory matters, while continuing to develop your client communication and technical judgement.
 
About Our Client
Our client is an independent accounting and advisory firm based in Red Hill, on Brisbane's city fringe.
 
The practice is led by 2 Directors and supported by a team of 18. The firm provides accounting, tax compliance, business services, SMSF, bookkeeping, QBCC reporting, business advisory and related professional services.
 
The firm is fully cloud-based, is an Xero Platinum Partner and uses modern systems including Xero, XPM, FYI Docs and related cloud tools.
 
This is a good environment for an accountant who wants structure, mentoring, regular training and exposure to more than basic compliance work.
 
The Role
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will support a diverse portfolio of clients across tax, compliance and business services work.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships and SMSFs
• Preparing financial statements, BAS, IAS and PAYG obligations
• Supporting clients with general tax and accounting queries
• Assisting with research across general taxation issues
• Using Xero, XPM and FYI across client work and workflow
• Supporting business advisory projects under the guidance of senior staff, managers and Directors
• Building your technical knowledge and client communication skills over time

What You'll Bring

• Accounting degree
• Minimum 2 years of Australian public practice experience
• CA or CPA completed, underway or intended
• Good understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proactive, hard-working and willing to keep learning

Experience with Xero, XPM, MYOB, FYI Docs or BGL Simple Fund will be viewed favourably.
