Why This Role
This is an opportunity for a Business Services Manager to join a growing team on the Sunshine Coast within a larger accounting and advisory firm.
The role has been created to provide senior support to the local Partner, who manages a substantial and growing client portfolio. You will work closely with the Partner, support the local team, and play an important role in client management, workflow, mentoring and delivery.
This will suit someone who is technically strong, comfortable in front of clients and able to build trust quickly.
About Our Client
Our client is an established accounting and advisory firm with a large Melbourne office and a growing presence on the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast team is based in Maroochydore and currently operates as a smaller local office supported by the wider firm's systems, leadership and offshore team. The local team works closely together and has a strong culture, with regular interaction throughout the day and a practical, down-to-earth working style.
The broader firm has approximately 35 staff in Melbourne, a small Sunshine Coast team, and an offshore team in the Philippines that supports both offices. The offshore team is long-standing and includes accounting, client service and payroll support.

The Role
As Business Services Manager, you will work closely with the Partner across client management, team support and workflow delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a client portfolio across business services and tax
- Working with small businesses, mum-and-dad clients, SMSFs and clients with turnover up to $20m
- Acting as a key contact for clients and handling client conversations confidently
- Reviewing financial statements, tax returns, BAS and compliance work
- Supporting workflow, job allocation and deadlines across the team
- Mentoring and supporting accountants, including junior and graduate-level staff
- Working with the local Partner to improve delegation, team structure and client delivery
- Using Xero and Xero Practice Manager across client and workflow processes
- Contributing to a supportive, engaged and high-performing local team culture
This is not a purely technical role. It requires client confidence, team awareness and the ability to support a busy Partner while helping the office continue to grow.
What You'll Bring - Strong Australian public practice experience in business services and tax
- CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent experience
- Manager-level experience, or strong Supervisor / Assistant Manager experience
- Confidence in managing client relationships and speaking directly with business owners
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior accountants
- Strong technical capability across financial statements, tax returns, BAS and related compliance work
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a busy portfolio
- A practical, personable and team-focused communication style
- Experience with Xero and Xero Practice Manager will be highly regarded
