About the firm: Our client is a remote chartered accounting firm with staff situated across Australia. This contemporary firm has been an early adopter of technology and innovation, allowing them to provide comprehensive accounting, business advisory, CFO and training services.
About the position:
Lead and mentor our offshore bookkeeping team (currently 2), ensuring high standards and consistent quality.
Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple clients, ensuring reconciliations and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Review files before they progress to BAS and year-end stages.
Provide technical advice and guidance on accounting treatment, GST, and reconciliations.
Manage workflow in Karbon HQ, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are clear.
Collaborate with the Accounting Lead to resolve complex issues and maintain a smooth flow of work.
Build client relationships across our bookkeeping base and provide proactive support.
The ideal candidate:
4-6 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting within a public practice environment.
Strong technical understanding of bookkeeping, GST, and reporting.
Proven experience managing or mentoring others.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.
A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving and leadership.
Tools and Systems:
The bookkeeping and workflow environment includes:
Xero - core accounting platform
Hubdoc - document capture and reconciliation
Karbon HQ - workflow and communication management
HubSpot - CRM and client record management
Ignition - client engagement and payments
Content Snare - client document collection
SharePoint - document storage and collaboration
Experience with any of these systems is highly valued, particularly Xero, Hubdoc, and Karbon HQ.
