Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant, but will consider a motivated Intermediate Accountant as well. This role is pivotal in managing client portfolios, providing expert advice, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing value to clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of clients, primarily within the finance industry, including partnerships, self-managed super funds, trusts, and companies.
Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance documents.
Provide expert advice to clients on a range of accounting and taxation matters.
Assist with advisory projects, including strategic financial planning and FBT, GST, Div 7A, Section 100A and Division 296 tax-related advice.
Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, taxation laws, and industry developments.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
CA or CPA qualification preferred, but not mandatory.
Minimum of five years of public practice accounting experience for the senior role.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero and/or Class.
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
Experience with FBT, GST, Div 7A, and Section 100A.
Team and Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Partner.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, including managers, senior accountants, and graduates.
Collaboration with the team is crucial to delivering comprehensive services to our clients.
