Based in vibrant Mascot, this position would suit an experienced public practice accountant who is strong in tax compliance and advisory services and seeking a senior position. This unique position sits at the head of the tax compliance division and offers potential portfolio/equity ownership down the track.
Key responsibilities:
Review and approval of tax returns, primarily for SMSFs
Preparation of financial statements, BAS & IAS
Review of SMSF Financial Statements and handle auditor queries
Exposure to a variety of taxation matters including GST, CGT, FBT, Division 7A etc
Collaborate on Tax Planning and other ad hoc consulting and advisory engagements
Liaising with clients and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
CA, CPA, or CTA
Be a Registered Tax Agent or be willing to become one
Prior experience in a client-facing public practice role
Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing tax returns, financial statements, complex accounting tasks, financial analysis, and management reporting.
In-depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
