We are looking for an HR Manager who can take ownership of the HR function, provide confident advice to staff and leaders, and help continue to evolve the way HR operates across the school.

The role:

Reporting directly to the Principal, you will lead the day-to-day HR function and be a trusted adviser across the school. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope to make your mark. The foundations are already in place, but the school is open to new ideas and wants someone who can bring a contemporary HR perspective and improve systems, processes and the employee experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the HR function and providing trusted advice to staff and leaders
• Managing employee relations, grievances, performance and workplace matters
• Interpreting and applying the Enterprise Agreement and employment legislation
• Working closely with finance and payroll
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning
• Managing HR reporting and compliance
• Improving HR systems, processes and technology
• Managing and developing the HR support function

About you:

You will be an experienced HR practitioner who is confident working independently and comfortable providing advice across a broad range of people matters. Ideally, you will have experience within a school or another complex organisation, although education experience is not essential.

You will bring:

• Strong generalist HR experience
• Confidence interpreting Enterprise Agreements
• Sound knowledge of employment legislation
• Excellent judgement and communication skills
• Strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills
• A practical, contemporary approach to HR
