The Opportunity:

We are partnering with Ravenswood School for Girls to recruit their next Payroll Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a pivotal role responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across the school while also providing valuable support across a range of HR processes.

This position offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with leaders across Finance, People & Culture and the wider school community. You'll be the go-to person for payroll, while also playing an important role in employee lifecycle administration, compliance and reporting.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to improved systems and digitisation initiatives, helping to streamline payroll and people processes and support more efficient ways of working across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
• Maintain employee records and payroll data across multiple systems
• Process payroll reconciliations, superannuation, leave management and reporting
• Interpret awards, legislation and employment conditions to ensure compliance
• Prepare employment contracts and support employee lifecycle administration
• Provide payroll and HR support to staff and managers across the school
• Contribute to audits, budgeting, workforce reporting and compliance activities
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency

About You:

• Previous experience in a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll position
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards and employment conditions
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across payroll systems
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels
• Experience with Micropay, ConnX or Synergetic will be highly regarded, but not essential.
