We’re working with a well-regarded school looking for a Head Coach of Athletics & Cross Country.

In this role, you'll plan and coordinate yearly programs while coaching students daily. You'll also oversee a team of 9-10 casual staff, ensuring they have the support they need.

The Duties:

• Lead and coordinate the school's athletics and cross-country programs, ensuring smooth sessions and effective use of casual staff
• Engage with families and keep the school community informed with regular updates
• Take charge of the school carnival, managing logistics and coordinating travel as needed.
• Run the cross-country club twice a week, fostering a strong running culture
• Coach and mentor students, preparing them for competitions and providing on-the-ground support
• Handle all administrative tasks related to athletics and cross-country, keeping everything organised
• Build strong connections with local athletics and running clubs to enhance opportunities for students
• Celebrate student achievements, keeping the Director informed of key milestones
• Provide first aid support when needed, ensuring student safety
• Assist the Director of Sport with additional duties as required

  
Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a similar role, working with students or young adults
• Athletics Australia Track and Field Coaching accreditation
• Tertiary qualification in sports science, human movement, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of experience, education, and training
• Current Senior First Aid certification
• A valid driver’s licence (a bus licence is a plus)
• Relevant paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Strong background in managing cross-country and athletics programs is preferred
• Proven ability to handle administration and organisation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in staff management, including recruitment, supervision, rostering, and training
