We are partnering with a leading university to recruit two experienced Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partners. In this role, you will play a key role in collaborating with faculties across the university to promote and maintain the health, safety, and wellbeing of their teams.

With a proactive approach, you will engage frequently with teams to mitigate risks, conduct inspections, participate in investigations, and guide managers in implementing practical health and safety risk management strategies.

This is a full-time, temporary 6-month position based in the heart of Sydney CBD. Enjoy the convenience of nearby public transport, cafes, and shops, while being part of a supportive team. The role also offers hybrid working arrangements, with two days from home.

The Role:

• Effectively manage and foster strong relationships with faculties and business partners.
• Provide expert advice to leaders and supervisors to ensure health, safety, and risk management measures are in place.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of university operations to ensure WHS is integrated and clearly communicated.
• Respond to and resolve incidents while maintaining transparent communication with faculty teams.
• Conduct inspections, develop annual safety plans, and review psychosocial risk assessment processes.
• Plan and implement wellbeing initiatives across the university.
• Promote hazard reporting to strengthen safety profiles within all areas.
• Analyse and prepare detailed reports on health and safety metrics.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Undertake additional tasks to support leaders, faculties, and senior management as required  

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a university setting (not essential).
• Background in psychosocial risk management is desirable but not mandatory.
• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles and legislation.
• Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a large team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with internal reporting systems.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and open-minded.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
