We are partnering with a leading university to find a compassionate and detail-oriented Return to Work Coordinator with experience in Workers' Compensation. This dynamic role focuses on managing workers' compensation and return-to-work coordination, offering variety and challenge.

As the Coordinator, you will manage a caseload, liaise with the university's insurance provider to ensure accurate payment processing, and provide empathetic support to staff navigating their return to work. Additionally, you will contribute to health prevention and wellbeing initiatives as part of the university's programs.

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills within the education sector. The position is full-time and temporary for 6 months, located in the heart of Sydney CBD, with easy access to public transport, shops, and cafes.

The Role:

• Manage the administration of cases across the university, providing guidance to staff and managers.
• Collaborate effectively with Safety Specialists, Health and Wellbeing Partners, HR Partners, line managers, and treating health practitioners to develop tailored solutions for each case.
• Work closely with HR, health and wellbeing partners, insurers, and other stakeholders to support the caseload.
• Ensure staff receive the necessary support throughout their recovery process and return to work safely and in compliance with relevant policies.
• Engage with individuals in a compassionate and sensitive manner as they navigate their return to work.
• Compile detailed reports on health and safety data, identify potential issues, and collaborate with the wider team to implement solutions.
• Ensure the university adheres to all relevant legislation and implements best practices in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
• Maintain and update all records in line with university policies and procedures.
• Undertake any other duties as directed by management.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a university setting, though not essential.
• Hands-on experience in workers' compensation is a must.
• Strong understanding of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Acts, and their practical application.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a large team.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and electronic file management systems.
• Open-minded with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively.
