Mechanical Engineering Intern - Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Gain Hands-On Mechanical Engineering Experience in Advanced Manufacturing
An exciting internship opportunity is available for a motivated Mechanical Engineering student or recent graduate looking to gain practical Australian industry experience within a well-established manufacturing environment.
The successful intern will work alongside experienced engineering and production professionals and gain exposure to manufacturing machinery, troubleshooting, process improvement, production systems and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on experience and ongoing projects, the intern may assist with:

• Supporting troubleshooting of manufacturing and production equipment
• Assisting with mechanical and manufacturing improvement projects
• Analysing machinery performance and production data
• Supporting equipment optimisation and efficiency improvements
• Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assisting with technical documentation and troubleshooting guides
• Learning about tooling, machinery setup and production processes
• Supporting Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency
• Working alongside engineering, maintenance, quality and production teams
• Following workplace health, safety and quality procedures

About You
We are looking for candidates who:

• Are currently studying or have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Have a strong interest in manufacturing, machinery and mechanical systems
• Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Are interested in troubleshooting and continuous improvement
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills
• Are proactive, reliable and willing to learn
• Are available 3 days per week for 12 weeks
• Can reliably travel to Moorabbin, VIC

Knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, Lean Manufacturing, mechanical design or manufacturing processes would be advantageous but is not essential.
