A professional business based in Melbourne is currently looking for an Accounting Intern to join its team.
This opportunity is ideal for an accounting student or recent graduate looking to gain practical Australian workplace experience and develop the skills required to begin a professional accounting career.
You will have the opportunity to support day-to-day accounting activities while learning from experienced professionals in a real business environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
• Supporting bank and account reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with invoices and financial documentation
• Data entry and transaction processing
• Preparing spreadsheets and basic reports
• Supporting bookkeeping activities
• Assisting with month-end accounting tasks where appropriate
• General accounting and administrative support

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:

• Is currently studying or has recently completed a qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• Has a basic understanding of accounting principles
• Is confident using Microsoft Excel
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Is organised and comfortable working with numbers
• Has good communication skills
• Is proactive and willing to learn

Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks would be beneficial but is not essential.
Previous professional accounting experience is not required. We are looking for candidates who want an opportunity to learn and develop practical skills.
