About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established engineering company based in Newcastle, delivering design and Fabricate FRP Products for industry. Due to continued growth, they're seeking a part-time Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. 

About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this part-time position suits someone who enjoys hands-on accounts work within a stable, close-knit team. You'll support day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment runs
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with BAS preparation and lodgement support
• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
• Support payroll processing and superannuation compliance
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team

About You

• Prior experience in a similar accounts/bookkeeping role, ideally within engineering or a project-based industry
• Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills, comfortable working independently and within a small team
• Available to work part time 5 days a week.
