A well-established and growing corporate catering and events company is seeking a motivated Sous Chef to join its high-performing kitchen team in Sydney CBD. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, or experienced Sous Chef looking to develop their leadership skills within a structured, professional, and fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with premium corporate clients while enjoying a stable Monday to Friday roster, providing an excellent work-life balance rarely found in hospitality. Key Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations of a busy commercial catering kitchen.
Ensure food is prepared and presented to consistently high quality standards.
Supervise, motivate, and support the kitchen team throughout production and service.
Coordinate kitchen workflows to ensure efficient preparation and timely delivery.
Monitor labour productivity, kitchen performance, and food cost controls.
Minimise food waste and maintain accurate stock management.
Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
Work collaboratively with management to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
About You
Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, or Sous Chef.
Experience working in high-volume commercial kitchens, catering, hotels, or events.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Highly organised with excellent time management.
Passionate about maintaining quality while driving operational excellence.
Ability to work under pressure and lead by example.
Sound understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
Must have unrestricted Australian working rights (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen). Applicants requiring visa sponsorship or with work restrictions will not be considered.
