ABOUT POSITION:

• We’re looking for an Accounting Intern.

ABOUT YOU:
You must:

• be studying a relevant degree qualification or a recent graduate.
• have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• have the necessary technical and soft skills to perform the job.
• have years of relevant accounting experience (adjust based on level)
• have strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and reporting requirements.
• have experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, SAP).
• have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• be able to work at least 3 days per week.

  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
• Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, and other tax obligations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws and regulations
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management

The host company is located at Melbourne.
