Our client, a well-established Chartered Accounting (CA) firm based in Homebush, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Taxation Assistant to join their growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting graduate or junior accountant looking to gain hands-on experience and mentorship in tax and business services within a reputable public practice environment.
About the Role:
You’ll work directly with experienced accountants and partners to support tax compliance and general accounting functions. The role offers exposure to a wide range of entities including individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships — perfect for someone looking to build a long-term career in public practice.
Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and assistance with tax returns, BAS/IAS, and financial statements
• General ledger maintenance, data entry, and bank reconciliations
• ATO correspondence and handling basic client queries
• Supporting senior staff with tax planning, compliance, and reporting
• Ad hoc administrative support as required

Ideal Candidate:

• Degree qualified or currently studying Accounting
• 0–2 years’ experience in a public practice or tax environment
• Experience with MYOB, Xero, or HandiTax highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good time management
• Clear and professional communication skills
