STUDY AND WORK helps early learning centres and childcare providers hire emerging talent who are passionate about early childhood education. We currently have several childcare centres across Australia looking to host Early Childhood Teacher Interns as part of our “Try Before You Hire” Professional Internship Program.
ABOUT OUR CLIENTS
As an Early Childhood Teacher Intern, you will work under the supervision of qualified and experienced educators in leading childcare centres, kindergartens, and early learning settings. You will have the opportunity to support children’s development, contribute to lesson planning, and participate in engaging learning environments that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

- 12 months of paid internship, earning at least $31 per hour.

- Potential to earn $70K to $90K per year after successful ongoing employment.
ABOUT THE POSITION During the internship, you may gain experience in:
- Assisting in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational programs
- Supporting children’s learning through play-based activities
- Observing and documenting developmental milestones
- Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of children
- Helping with meal times, rest routines, and hygiene practices
- Engaging with families and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment
- Collaborating with team members to maintain a stimulating learning space
- Understanding and applying the National Quality Standards (NQS) and EYLF principles
ABOUT YOU To succeed and maximise your job prospects during or after the internship, you should have:
- A degree or enrolment in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor or Master level)
- A genuine love for working with young children
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Creativity, patience, and adaptability
- Basic understanding of EYLF and NQS
- A current Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? We charge a success-based internship facilitation fee of
$4,400 (inc GST), payable only when you accept an internship offer following a successful interview.
The fee includes:
- Guaranteed 12-month internship placement
- Formal internship agreement with a training plan
- Insurance during the internship
- Mid- and end-of-internship performance appraisals
- Certificate of Work Experience
