About the Role:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to support their kitchen team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience, develop their skills, and learn under the guidance of experienced chefs. The position includes visa sponsorship under the Subclass 407 Training Visa, making it a great opportunity for aspiring chefs looking to build a career in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes to high standards
• Ensure proper food handling and hygiene practices are followed
• Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations
• Contribute to inventory and stock rotation
• Follow all food safety and WHS regulations
• Show initiative and willingness to learn from experienced chefs

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (or currently pursuing)
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in a professional kitchen (preferred)
• Passion for food and eagerness to learn
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is a plus
