Senior Project Manager – HVAC (Major Commercial Projects)

Join a leading contractor delivering complex, large-scale commercial HVAC projects across Melbourne. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of end-to-end project delivery—from design through to commissioning—on high-profile developments.
The Opportunity This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle delivery of major HVAC projects (design, installation, commissioning)
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and monthly progress claims
• Analyse tenders and procure major plant, equipment, and subcontractor packages
• Oversee subcontractor performance (electrical, controls, refrigeration)
• Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements
• Coordinate engineering, drafting, and design reviews
• Manage site activities, attend meetings, and conduct regular site visits
• Drive value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Handle variations, claims, and project financial controls
• Support commissioning, defect resolution, and project close-out
• Mentor and support junior Project Managers and contribute to team development
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across clients, consultants, and internal teams

About You

• 7+ years’ experience in HVAC project management, delivering large commercial projects
• Proven track record in cost control, productivity, and site operations
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• Solid understanding of estimating, contracts, and financial management
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
• Proactive, driven, and solutions-focused mindset
• Commitment to HSEQ standards and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Current Driver’s Licence
• White Card (WHS Induction)
