We’re seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join a leading government agency’s Cyber Operations team. The role is focused on defending and strengthening a global ICT network against emerging cyber threats through proactive monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis.
Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine use cases and playbooks for cyber threat detection and response.
• Monitor and enhance cyber security systems and controls.
• Analyse logs and events to detect and investigate potential security incidents.
• Conduct incident response and remediation activities.
• Support threat hunting and collaborate with threat intelligence teams.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and share knowledge within the team.

About you
You’re a skilled cyber security professional with:

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Cyber Security Analyst.
• Strong background in incident response and threat detection.
• Experience creating and operationalising security use cases.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a technical team.

Desirable

• Experience with Splunk SOAR and Risk-Based Alerting (RBA).
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, Microsoft or Splunk).
• Tertiary IT or cyber security qualifications.

Other requirements

• Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory).
• Role includes a standard government end-of-year stand-down period (typically 4–6 weeks).
