An industry-leading, family-owned agribusiness in the Miles region is seeking experienced and motivated Livestock Hands to join its expanding feedlot operations team. With a recent upgrade to its 35,000-head facility, this integrated enterprise spanning feedlot, backgrounding, logistics, and farming offers a strong team culture and a commitment to sustainable, ethical practices.

About the Role
As part of the livestock team, you will contribute to the daily care and movement of cattle using low-stress handling techniques while supporting the ongoing health, welfare and productivity of the herd.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out livestock and pen movements using low-stress handling methods
• Perform daily pen riding and provide cattle treatments as required
• Support animal health monitoring and ensure compliance with QA and welfare standards
• Conduct livestock induction, drafting and processing with attention to accuracy and care
• Assist with livestock receivals and dispatch
• Maintain clear daily communication with Feedmill, Maintenance, Office and Logistics teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
• Experience in livestock handling, ideally in a feedlot or similar environment
• Strong horsemanship skills and experience caring for working horses
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform hands-on, physical tasks
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Ownership of two suitable working horses, fully vaccinated for Hendra
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills
Desirable Skills
• Familiarity with Elynx programs such as StockAid or FY3000
• Understanding of feedlot animal health and behaviour
• Commitment to WHS, animal welfare and biosecurity procedures
