About The Role
DBG Health is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Beauty Legal team based in Sydney for a 12mth FIxed-Term contract. Reporting to the General Counsel - Beauty ANZ, you will provide pragmatic legal advice and support across our Beauty portfolio, partnering with stakeholders throughout the full product lifecycle from innovation and brand development through to marketing, sales and supply chain operations.
This is a dynamic and business-facing role where you will work closely with Marketing, D2C, R&D and commercial teams to protect and enhance the company's brands, manage legal and regulatory risk, and support the achievement of strategic and commercial objectives in a fast-paced consumer products environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide commercially focused legal advice across the Beauty business, supporting brand development, innovation, marketing, sales, supply chain and procurement activities.
- Manage intellectual property portfolios, including trade marks, IP protection strategies and licensing arrangements.
- Review and approve advertising, marketing and product claims, label artwork, new product development initiatives and regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including agency, influencer, procurement, supply, distribution and logistics contracts.
- Advise stakeholders on competition and consumer law compliance, pricing and promotional activities, and dispute resolution matters.
- Deliver legal training, guidance and risk mitigation strategies to support compliance and informed decision-making across the business.
Skills & Experience - Minimum 3 years' post-admission experience, ideally gained within an FMCG, consumer goods, beauty, health or similar commercial environment.
- Strong experience across intellectual property, commercial contracting and general corporate or commercial legal matters.
- Demonstrated expertise advising on marketing, advertising, branding, consumer law and regulatory compliance issues.
- Ability to provide practical, solutions-focused legal advice that balances commercial outcomes with effective risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and partner across multiple business functions.
- Admitted to practice in Australia, with international legal exposure viewed favourably.
