About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance function based in either Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting to the General Manager Supply Chain, you will drive quality strategy, governance and compliance across the business, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
Leading a team of quality professionals, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, contract manufacturers and regulators, to strengthen quality systems, mitigate risk and support the continued supply of high-quality medicines to Australia, New Zealand and other developing global markets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide expert quality leadership across the pharmaceutical organisation, partnering with Commercial, Regulatory, Supply and Technical teams to embed best practice.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Quality Assurance team while driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with applicable global standards including TGA, PIC/S and other global regulatory requirements.
- Oversee supplier quality programs, including supplier qualification, agreements, performance monitoring and ongoing GMP compliance.
- Develop and implement quality risk management strategies, leading the resolution of quality and compliance issues including deviations, product quality complaints, compliance signals and potential recalls where required.
- Monitor quality performance through metrics, audits and governance processes, escalating significant compliance risks and engaging with regulatory authorities where required.
Skills & Experience - Extensive Quality Assurance leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Management Systems, GMP and global regulatory frameworks, including TGA, PIC/S and international quality standards.
- Proven experience managing supplier quality, contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs) and quality governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in quality risk management, regulatory inspections, audits, CAPAs, product quality complaints and recall management.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams while influencing senior stakeholders across cross-functional business units.
- Strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication, leadership and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
