About the Role
At Independent Pharmacies Australia (IPA), our purpose is sharing the future of pharmacy and creating healthier communities.
As a Pharmacy Business Manager, you will partner with our member pharmacies to help drive commercial performance, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will build strong relationships with pharmacy owners and their teams, providing coaching, strategic guidance, and practical solutions that enable them to maximise opportunities and deliver exceptional outcomes for their local communities.
Working collaboratively with teams across IPA, you will support the successful implementation of key programs, services, and business initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve performance and strengthen member engagement. As a representative of IPA, you will act as a positive ambassador for the business, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to helping our members succeed.
This role supports our Chemist Discount Centre (CDC) network across New South Wales, Tasmania, and western Victoria. We are open to candidates being based in either Victoria or New South Wales; however, regular travel throughout the territory is an essential part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with member pharmacies to drive commercial performance, delivering tailored business coaching, strategic advice, and practical solutions to improve profitability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with pharmacy owners and teams, supporting member growth and retention by maximising the value of IPA programs, services, and brand initiatives.
- Monitor business performance across your territory, using market insights and key performance indicators to identify opportunities, implement action plans, and achieve agreed commercial outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with IPA programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements by conducting pharmacy visits, documenting actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across IPA to successfully implement projects, share best practice, and deliver exceptional service while acting as a positive ambassador for the business.
Key Requirements - Demonstrated experience in retail pharmacy, pharmacy operations, or a business development/account management role, with the ability to drive commercial performance and build long-term customer relationships.
- Strong business acumen with proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to analyse business performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and build collaborative relationships with pharmacy owners, teams, and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to manage change, take ownership, and work independently while contributing to a high-performing team environment.
- A current Australian driver's licence and the flexibility to travel regularly throughout the allocated territory.
