About The Role
The Financial Accountant will work collaboratively with the Finance team to deliver our Finance plans and objectives. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The Financial Accountant will be responsible, along with other Finance team members, for the preparation and reporting of internal and external monthly reporting, ensuring policies and procedures are maintained and followed, and ensuring a clean audit report.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain consolidation adjustments, perform reconciliations to the GL, and investigate and resolve accounting variances in a timely manner.
- Manage key accounting areas including AASB16 lease reporting and foreign currency revaluations across subsidiary ledgers.
- Draft statutory financial statements, assist with annual tax compliance, audit requirements, and prepare reporting for banking and external stakeholders.
- Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial results, including balance sheet movements, and support wider finance team reporting needs.
- Drive process improvements, support policy alignment, and collaborate across teams while maintaining strong compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality standards.
Skills & Experience - Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to independently research, analyse, and resolve complex financial issues.
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in accounting or finance roles, with capability to manage recurring tasks with a high degree of accuracy and ownership.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (e.g. large data analysis, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, filters) and broader Office 365 suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation and build strong internal stakeholder relationships.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and identifying process enhancements.
- Collaborative and adaptable team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Desirable: - Experience with financial systems (e.g. Business Central) and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Exposure to FMCG or pharmaceutical industries and experience navigating organisational change or M&A environments.
